welcome, one and all, to The Barn, a small group of loners who run a weird thing out in the wild; a Safehaven for all cats!
The Barn, is, of course, an old farm Barn. it used to be red, now it's kinda dusty. inside is a lot of hay from it's twoleg days, and the mice like to hide in it, making easy prey. it is surrounded by a field of dead corn plants, again, spawning mice. to the outer edges of the field is a forest, heavily wooded. Foxes have been known to live here, but rarely ever attack the barn. sometimes, Pickers and Warriors work together and bring down a fox for food, if mouse is short. inside the barn is three levels. the ground, which is covered in hay, is where the HPs sleep (even the Doctor), and the Nursery is. the second floor, which is up a bit of stairs, and leads to the Warrior and Picker rooms. and the Loft, where the Doctor stores his herbs.
the Barn is square, and has many windows so light gets in well. as you enter the doors, a small hole in the barn doors, you would see a hay-covered floor. to your left, in a little cave of hay, is the Leader's den. at the end of the hall is the nursery, where mothers and kits lay. and nearby that, underneath the stairs, is the Doctor Den. (the TARDIS XD) where he/she sleeps and tends to the sick.
upstairs, is the Fighter and Catcher dens, as well as Pickers, Warriors, and apprentices dens. a small broken ladder which had been destroyed and rebuilt as a step leads to the loft, where the Doctor keeps his herbs.
Ranks+description:
Leader: he/she is the leader, and works closely with the Doctor, Catcher, and Warrior to help run the Barn.
The Catcher: Leader of the Pickers, he/she acts like a deputy.
Pickers: They collect the food, whether it be berries, mice, whatever, and store it for winter.
The Fighter: Leader of the Warriors, he/she also acts like a deputy. he and the Catcher talk, and take their positions together. usually, they are brothers/sisters, or close friends.
Warriors: they defend the Barn, and keep the peace between cats.
The Doctor: He/She is the medicine cat. they use herbs and remedies to heal the cats, and teach their apprentice.
Doctor's Companion: Also known as the apprentice, he/she learns about medicine from the Doctor. When the doctor thinks he/she is ready, he/she will become a second Doctor, albeit with less privileges than the first. must be 6 moons old.
Picker Apprentices: They are cats ages 6 moons to 12 moons, and some even higher, who are in training to be a Picker.
Fighter Apprentices: They are cats ages 6 moons to 12 moons, and some even higher, who are in training to be a Fighter.
Mothers: Kitting cats are called mothers.
Kits: cats ages 0-6 moons. they are expected to stay close to the Mothers, and not wander off.
Elders: these old cats are above the useful age. They aren't around for very long, usually, being forced off the land.
The Barn is, of course, in a barn. It is run by the Leader, whose word goes. however, as this is open to power, if the Doctor, Catcher, and Warrior all agree that the Leader is abusing their power, they can usurp the leader, and the Warrior or Catcher will be made the new leader, and a new Warrior or Catcher will be appointed. (In extreme cases, the Doctor has even taken over before, if there is a second Doctor) The New Leader will then decide what happens to the old Leader.
The Barn is meant to be a safe haven for wandering cats, and have even held whole clans. "Any cat is welcome." is their saying. clans, if staying out a storm, or winter, can live about their old life inside The Barn, as long as they don't bother the other cats. Loners will be added into the Barn's ranks for the time they're there, as long as they're healthy. In this case, the Leader will choose where they go.
