Rain sat in camp, he wondered if anyone of them would help him figure out how to fight. He was really scared to ask anyone for that though. He was good at everything except this sort of stuff, he had heard of fights that happen and he really wanted to be ready. He was fourteen moons and he couldn't fight? It was a bit shameful for Rain to not know, but it wasn't like he had really needed it when on his ship. Rain just hoped someone would help, so he decided to ask around. "Can you help me?" He asked.

spearmint had heard the call for help, and since she wasn't a damn deputy, she had nothing to do but help rain. "whaddya need help with, kid?" she said gruffly, as you know, she had hit her head on a rock recently.

"I don't know how to fight and I would like to figure out how to so I may prove some help in these battles that I have heard some speak of." Rain stated, saying nothing more. He stood proudly, however submission was lingering there too. Since he had heard that Spearmint had been the deputy before. So he didn't want to rude to even the former.

"Whatever is the most important, or what you are most skilled at. I don't mind what it is, I just hope to learn." Rain was swishing his tail with anticipation, he was wondering what Spearmint might just choose.

"let's start with hunting, then," spearmint replied, though she was a bit sad to say that. fighting was what she loved most.
the deputy lowered into a crouch, just sneaking around with her tail swishing from side to side as she lay low and circled rain. it looked a bit weird, yeah, but did she care? noope. "that's how you walk around with a hunting crouch," she explained.

"oh, psh, i knew that," spearmint silently cursed herself for being dumb. "just a review." she explained. the deputy stood up, looked around and sighed, relieved nobody saw that. "let's start with the front paw blow. what you have to do is, when you're fighting with an opponent, you sheath your claws and hit your opponent hard on the head with your front paws."

Rain unsheathed his claws like he would do when he was waiting for a mouse, he looked up quickly and decided to try exactly what Spearmint had instructed. He lifted himself up enough to get some advantage and he unsheathed his claws to make sure not to hurt him then aimed his paws to try to hit her.

Spearmint, knowing that this was an exercise and a practice, did nothing and had felt the apprentice's front paws slam onto her cranium. She'd ask for July when she needs to, but for now, it only hurt like a bump. "Good job!" she commended her apprentice with a small paws-up (cats didn't have thumbs) and a weary smile.

Rain perked his ears in happiness, for a young warrior. He always enjoyed praise, who doesn't? (not his admin XD) "What is the next move we are going to try?" He asked, thinking about it to himself and swishing his tail happily.

Rain sat down, wrapping his tail around himself and waiting for Spearmint to take the lead. He was thinking of the times when he was attacked by other cats.
