how to make a subaccount
subaccounts are yet another mystery of this site. however, i've decided to make a guide, revealing this so-called mystery. in just three simple steps, you can make your own subaccount, too!
step one: mr. rectangle
it's fairly easy when you make a subaccount.
whenever you log in and roleplay, you might see an annoying rectangle at the bottom-right corner or anywhere on the right of your screen, really. though, there are four buttons. there are the following:
» this is what you're looking for, the switch accounts button. it enables you to change accounts, whether it be a stalking guest, a leader subaccount and whatnot.
» if you've joined any other forums with this very same forum hosting site, it will lead you to a dashboard where it lets you choose to jump from one forum to another.
» this will lead you to your account settings, as in the general account you may use for any other website other than this one, with our same forum hosting site. in this case, proboards.
» lastly, here we have this arrow button, which allows you to close or open the annoying rectangle.
step two: meeting the accounts
let's go back to the first option:» this is what you're looking for, the switch accounts button. it enables you to change accounts, whether it be a stalking guest, a leader subaccount and whatnot.
click that option. go, don't be afraid.
okay. i'd assume you clicked it already, so moving on.
there should be four options, which are:
Create a new account on this forum.
Link another forum account.
Not you? Login to your account.
and last but not least,
Change Password.
we'll push away the last three---all we need for now is Create a new account on this forum., got it?
step three: creating the account
your email should be on the top, where on top of it, it may read "EMAIL" and "Change Email". you don't have to mind that for now.
but, what you do have to mind is the "Forum Username" area. You might also want to read a notice about what you can add in your username for your subaccount, and in this case, you can only use letters and numbers. don't worry, you can add fancy symbols later.
let's have an example account named "bob". hello, bob! so, that's pretty much it. just click "Continue" and you're good to go!
what to do with a subaccount
there are many things to do with your newly-made subaccount. you can use it for roleplaying a single character, for roleplaying in a certain board, or an art storage account! it's your choice what to do with your subaccount, and not mine.
» character accounts. these character subaccounts are mainly used for roleplaying a single character, that way it does not clutter up your main account's new replies. through this, you can easily switch from one character to another, and you can stay as the neat freak you are!
» specific board roleplaying accounts. if you don't want to roleplay in a board with your main account and don't want to make a subaccount for a single character, i suggest creating this type of subaccount. that way, you are able to roleplay multiple characters while still keeping your main account free of clutter!
» storage accounts. usually, most would want to keep all their art in one account, and not scattering them all in multiple accounts and on different threads. with a storage account, you can easily store whatever you need to store, keeping your main account clean of any extra clutter!
feel free to suggest any other uses for subaccounts if you'd like to!
